This includes the lead photographer’s fee, as well as, compensation for the second or even third shooters, who are necessary to ensure full event coverage. Most professional wedding photographers work with at least one second shooter, which adds to the over cost but enhances the depth and variety of images captured. A second shooter holds a lot of “value” for the end result of client delivery, monetarily and to the level of quality of image delivery.
Post-Production, General Production Expenses, and Equipment Costs
The work doesn’t end after the wedding day. Editing and overall image curation require hours of post-production. In this category, a percentage of our collection costs are allocated to software subscriptions, high-performance computers, external hard drives, cloud storage, accounting software, CRM software, and top of the line equipment.

However, for our studio specifically, we have been able to maintain a pricing structure that remains accessible to a wide range of budgets by operating as a team-based, multi-photographer studio—we are truly a family of artists. We’ve been able to maintain a very consistent broad range of collections at different price points to meet a multiple range of clients with different budget needs. By having a versatile and well-established team, we’re able to provide the same level of excellence and artistry across multiple tiers. Ensuring that couples have options that fit their vision and budget while still receiving an incredible experience and delivery of imagery.
So for us, although the cost of wedding photography has changed over the years, we have been able to implement minimal price increases and provide consistency in our pricing long term. With that, in order for all of our team members to continue to grow, and provide income for themselves, along with honoring our professional experience, that is our biggest personal catalyst for price increases.
